Making Festivals Happen

As part of an ongoing programme of work with Creative Edinburgh, we were delighted to recently host an event to build connections between the creative community and the festivals in the city. 

This event brought together Edinburgh’s Festivals and local freelance creative practitioners working through socially engaged community practice to explore what the Edinburgh Festivals do to be socially engaged and how the local creative community can work with them.

Representatives from across our festivals family - Edinburgh International Children's Festival, Edinburgh International Festival, Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival, Edinburgh Art Festival, Edinburgh International Film Festival, Edinburgh International Book Festival, Scottish International Storytelling Festival, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and Edinburgh Science Festival - talked about their respective ommunity programmes, how they operate across the year, and the ways they work with freelance artists.
